PDD Support Home Page

Well, we now have a new name, PervasiveDevelopmentalDisorders.com.  We will soon also have a new look.  The site has been static for a couple of years now, but it is now going to be updated.  Please bear with me.

These pages are meant to provide a central meeting place for those interested in, or coping with, children diagnosed with PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorders). Although related to Autism, there are relatively few sources of information on the Web specifically devoted to PDD. We will be adding to this page as resources are found.

Well, as usual, I have to apologize to all of you for the delay in keeping these pages updated.  Our lives have still not recoverd from events over the last two years, but I am trying to catchup.  I only have 168 User to User postings to put up and 301 Dear Jims.  I will try to do some work on it everyday until they are up.  Also, I think I have decided not to move the site for the time being.  Though I will be moving some of the pages.

I would also like some feedback from those who use these pages.  The Dear Jim section and User to User sections are getting to be rather large. This can cause delays in the downloading of the page.   Do you want me to break them into smaller pages that are grouped by their categories and then have a table of contents, which will allow you to jump to the correct page.  If I do this, I will also try to put in a search engine that will assist you in finding those listings that have the particular word that you are looking for.

This is a text only site.  It is designed to deliver as much information to you as possible.  Fancy graphics and programming do not give you any additional information.    But alas, this is the World Wide Web and I am in the business.  So if you would like for me to create a graphical version of this site, please e-mail and let me know and if enough want it I will do it.  Thank you for your time and continued support!

*** Coming in the next couple of days:  The final regulations for IDEA '97.   They will be under the (not active yet!) Individuals with Disabilities Education Act section.

Our children are God's greatest gift to us.
No matter how they are packaged this truth does not change.
Be grateful; love, honor and cherish them.
If your child is not perfect or what you hoped for,
God has not punished you for past deeds.
He has given you an opportunity that you may not yet understand.
Make the most of the situation, for you are in it for a purpose,
And there are rewards that you never imagined possible.

There is little room left for wisdom when one is full of judgement - Malcolm Hein

Please help out with a  suggestion or two (or more) for additions to this page! This is YOUR page, and hopefully, will prove useful to you as it grows. As you may have experienced in your efforts to secure programming for your child, it's difficult to find someone that is truly interested in helping out. We must help each other!

Please e-mail your suggestions for additions and I will add it as soon as possible

Who am I? I am James Jackson, the proud parent of two beautiful children named Courtney, age 5, and Tyler, age 8. Tyler was diagnosed with PDD-NOS about three and a half years ago. He has had other diagnoses prior to that, but I will detail that in a personal bio link that should be up shortly. He has been to many specialists and I have tried to research PDD on the Internet, but I have been frustrated time-and-time again with the lack of information available to parents of children with PDD.
